What is an Endodontist?
An Endodontist is a specialist who treats the nerve inside the tooth. If the nerve of the tooth is injured from trauma, tooth decay or cracked tooth structure, an infection results. Frequently pain is present and significant. The Endodontist can remove the infected nerve tissue and disinfect the nerve canals, thus eliminating the infection, the pain, and in most cases save the tooth.
